Santa Catarina is very well know by being one of the best areas of surf in Brazil, every year it recibes the top surfers of the world for the WCT tour.
Ibiraquera it's the mecca of wavesailing and kitesurfing because of the perfect side off winds and it's clean waves. There are also other good spots for wave riding like "Farol de Santa Marta" and "Praia do Sol". Home of Wave World Champ KAULI SEADI.
It also have a lot of lagoons like "Lagoa da Ibiraquera" for freestyle, with flat water and constant wind.
This area picks all the swells from the Atlantic and Antartica. The swells are very consistent so you can find waves year around. The best period for wind is winter and spring. During summer the winds are consistent but a bit lighter (15 - 25 knts) and its well know by its parties and hot chicks.
