As long as you can kite upwind you should be fine. If you get a serious kite problem, usually a nearby yachtie/kiteboarder will rescue you. Otherwise the SE wind will push you to Malolo Island, then it is about a 20 min walk on the beach back to Malolo Lai Lai (Small Malolo).

When there is no wind, surfing is also available. A local long boat takes surfers to Wilkes Passage, desparations, and hummers daily, and Cloud Break on Saturdays.

During Low Tide the nearby Sand Bank is one of the best kiteboarding spots in the world.
